Resize Image for Twitch Profile Banner

The recommended Twitch profile banner size is 1200x480 pixels (a 5:2 ratio). This is the wide strip at the top of your channel page, sitting behind your profile picture and channel info. Resize your artwork to exactly 1200x480 below so it fills the space cleanly.

Your profile picture and info overlap the left side

The Twitch profile banner is the first branding a visitor sees, but it is not a clean rectangle. Your circular profile picture and your channel name sit on top of the banner's left portion, covering it. Anything important placed on the far left — a logo, a tagline, a face — will be hidden behind that overlay. Push your key visuals to the center and right of the 1200x480 canvas.

Do not confuse this with the offline screen. The profile banner (1200x480) is the header of your page; the offline screen (1920x1080) is what fills the video player when you are not live. They are separate uploads with different shapes, so resize to whichever surface you are updating.

Resized locally, never uploaded

Streamers often use paid or commissioned banner art, and this tool keeps it private: the resize is done in your browser with the Canvas API and the image is never transmitted anywhere. Select the 1200x480 preset, load your art, and download the result. Test the final banner on both desktop and mobile, since Twitch crops the banner to a narrower strip on phones.

Frequently asked questions

Why is part of my Twitch banner hidden?

Your profile picture and channel name overlay the left side of the 1200x480 banner. Keep logos and important text in the center-right area so the overlay does not cover them.

Is the Twitch banner the same as the offline screen?

No. The profile banner is 1200x480 and appears at the top of your channel. The offline screen is 1920x1080 and fills the video player when you are not streaming.

What file size can a Twitch banner be?

Twitch accepts JPG, PNG, and GIF for the profile banner. Keep the file reasonably small so your channel page loads fast, and export at the full 1200x480 for sharpness.
